The face of Morjoy
For as long as I can remember, my life has been filled with a passion for the hospitality industry. Besides my studies in accountancy, I had a side job as a barista and bartender in various bars. Just like many other fellow students.
It was 2014 when I noticed how much energy I got by giving people a nice day. That year a wonderful opportunity presented itself which I took with both hands. For more than two years I filled my summer vacation as manager of a beach bar. I enjoyed serving drinks with the Greek sun, the sea, and the beach as the ultimate scenery.
This passion also continued during my travels in America and Asia. There I had the chance to try many new recipes and food combinations. I loved to be surprised by these new tastes, sensations, and trends. That joy is something I also like to give to my guests. That’s why hospitality is made for me.
In 2019 I followed my girlfriend to Holland to get to know her culture better. I have been living in the Netherlands ever since. I have also studied the eating and drinking habits of the locals here in the Netherlands, just like I do during my long journeys. That’s why also in this country the hospitality industry continues to get its hold on me. Now I know exactly what you love the most.
And as for many people within the hospitality industry, the worldwide corona pandemic has shut our dreams down. However, I prefer to look at it differently and try to get something positive out of it. Maybe, this tuk-tuk concept would have been never born without having this space to think. For me, the Morjoy tuk-tuk is the beginning of a hospitality dream come true.
